30 years of LIFE programmes is:

  • 4 themes supported: nature and biodiversity, circular economy and quality of life, mitigation and adaptation to climate change, and clean energy transition
  • 5,500 projects financially supported by Europe, including over 1,800 nature projects
  • 1,800 protected species of wild animals and plants, including 460 bird species
  • 6,000 protected natural areas (a quarter of the Natura2000 network)
  • 3 million euros invested in nature

The Conservatoire d’espaces naturels de Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur has participated in many LIFE programmes, for which it has been the coordinator or associated beneficiary.

Continuation of the LIFE programme

For the years 2021 to 2027, 5.4 billion euros are financed by the European Commission for the LIFE programme.
