I am honoured to be joining the LIFE SOS Crau grasshopper  team and to be taking over this conservation project, which covers such a wide range of issues in the Crau region.

The Crau grasshopper is a good illustration of the fragile balance that links every living thing to its environment. It also offers a considerable challenge: to study and preserve a species that is difficult to observe!

This LIFE Crau Plain Grasshopper project is obviously an opportunity to raise public awareness of the need to protect this insect endemic to the Crau, but it is also a way of raising awareness of the massive decline in biodiversity and the destruction of natural habitats on a global scale.

Through the LIFE Crau plain Grasshopper project, the public will be made aware of the challenges facing an exceptional territory: the coussoul de Crau.

I’m delighted to be involved in the conservation of a little-known but endearing species: a small, fragile, sedentary cricket with an orange collar that I discovered thanks to my work at the Conservatoire.

I find the Crau grasshopper both endearing and fascinating. I’m convinced that it will appeal just as much to the public, who are becoming increasingly aware of the need to protect endangered species.

The LIFE project includes, among other things, working on the links between pastoral activity and the ecology of the Crau Plain Grasshopper and its habitat… Counting sheep on the Coussouls de Crau without falling asleep… Quite a programme!

Communicating about the LIFE Caru Plain Grasshopper project means contributing to its preservation and raising awareness of the close links and interactions that exist in the living world.

From sheep breeding to locust breeding… It’s a change of scale, but it’s still in keeping with the theme!

I’m delighted to be involved in a project like this, bringing together zoos and environmentalists to save a species and its ecosystem.

I’m delighted to be working with a multi-disciplinary team whose common goal is to protect a unique ecosystem!

A great specialist in camouflage, the Crau Plain Grasshopper and its Life programme offer a new opportunity to talk about this biodiversity that is so close to us, but which we don’t see or don’t see any more.

I’m absolutely enthusiastic about working to conserve the Crau steppe, a natural jewel where I discovered so many original bird species back in the 90s!

Personally and professionally committed to conservation projects. Passionate about terrariums and aquariums.

The LIFE project is a fantastic opportunity to raise public awareness of the need to protect our local biodiversity and to shed light on species that receive little media coverage.

Through this LIFE project, I’m glad to be able to take part in the conservation of a species that is endemic to our region. By conserving this grasshopper, we are supporting the biodiversity of the coussoul de Crau, a unique ecosystem.

I’m thrilled to be taking part in this programme and to be able to introduce youngsters to this grasshopper.

This project is a unique opportunity to take action to save a species endemic to our region, but also to allow the public to discover and marvel at the biodiversity that surrounds us!

The Crau Plain Grasshopper is a species that is vital to the region’s biodiversity. Having already worked on this grasshopper during my studies, I’m excited to be able to take part in LIFE and follow the evolution of this species.

I’m very pleased to be helping to preserve a local species.

I am pleased and honoured to coordinate this project, which aims to save a species from extinction. This almost invisible grasshopper represents a whole ecosystem that we want to know more about and protect through the LIFE project with the help of all partners.
