After a fun presentation on this insect, its habitat and its habits, the children let their creativity run riot by modelling their own grasshopper out of clay and natural materials. Guided by their teacher, who is very involved in raising awareness of the environment, they showed great interest in this insect.

This sculpture workshop, which was designed as part of the Crau Plain Grasshopper educational pack, provides an introduction to the morphology of this species.

Since 2023, it has been offered to schoolchildren, visitors to the Crau Ecomuseum (registration required), and the general public at the Conservatoire d’espaces naturels de Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur stand during festive and cultural events.

It’s aimed at all ages, and is always a great success!
